The very first Raffles property to open in London can be found within the Old War Office, which was built in 1906, on the corner of Whitehall and Horse Guards Avenue. This historic site has seen the likes of many famous individuals such as Sir Winston Churchill and Ian Fleming. It was also the location of many of the Bond movies! This alone makes the space intriguing.
Inside, you'll find 120 rooms and suites which have been designed by French architect and interior designer, Thierry Despont. It offers nine restaurants and three bars (overseen by world-class chefs), a luxurious spa, a 20-metre indoor swimming pool, vitality pool, sauna and steam rooms, as well as a gym and a movement studio. Raffles London can also accommodate for private events, such as lavish weddings or business meetings. With sweeping views across Hyde Park and Wellington Arch, The Peninsula London can be found in the heart of Belgravia. The brand itself, The Peninsula, is award-winning, and can be found in many cities across the world, known for its signature luxury. In other words, to stay at The Peninsula in London will most certainly be a good idea.
This particular The Peninsula will boast its five-start experience with excellent British culture, art, and cuisine. Here, you'll be treated to a large inner courtyard, destination restaurants, a gorgeous spa, nine boutiques for luxurious shopping, and a grand ballroom for glamorous events. This is not the first of its kind in London. In fact, this aparthotel is the sixth, and latest, Locke hotel to open in London, with the brand expanding into the city's Kensington and Chelsea area. To be more specific, you'll find the Kensington Locke on the historic Cromwell Road, a stone throw away from some of London's iconic attractions. Designed by London-based architects, you'll be inspired by the beautiful, authentic, and liveable spaces for both visiting guests and locals. It has a mid-century aesthetic and a contemporary approach for the modern traveller.
The Kensington Locke has 121 apartments, from studios to one-bedroom and two-bedroom open-plan spaces. The shared space is comprised of lush green gardens, a stunning bar, restaurant, private meeting areas, and a co-working space.
